If scientists do not have 'rock star status', who will want to be one? -- Chima Ibeneche, MD/CEO Nigeria LNG Limited
So it was that, in keeping with our commitment to science in Nigeria, on the 3rd of February 2010 at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, NLNG publicly presented Professor Andrew Jonathan Nok and his seminal work on the discovery of a DNA vaccine for Trypanosomiasis, to the world.
Professor Nok presented his paper, titled Functional Studies on the Trypanosome Sialidase/Trans-sialidase - Prospects for DNA Vaccine to a hall crammed with Scientists, distinguished academics, students and other members of the general public.
The event was given extensive media coverage by the members of both the print and electronic media and by all accounts was a success.
