The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) has awarded its prestigious Africa Gold Quill Award 2011 to NLNG. The award will be presented at Foxwood House, Houghton, South Africa on 13th April 2011.
This award puts the company in the running for the ultimate IABC prize regarded worldwide as the Oscar of business communication. NLNG is representing Africa in the Crises Communication category of the competition by virtue of being the African champion. This is the first time a non-South African company is representing the continent.
The Gold Quill Award entries go through two rigorous rounds of judging by top senior communicators from around the world. The final selection will be made by the Gold Quill Awards Blue Ribbon Panel of judges at the IABC world headquarters in San Francisco this month. The award ceremony is in June in San Diego, the United States of America.
NLNG’s entry for the prize is titled: “Standing up for our Core Values”. In awarding the prize to NLNG, the judges praised the clarity of the company’s messages; that the messages were constructed and conveyed flawlessly in the correct forums – both face-to-face and in the traditional media – and that standards of excellence were not compromised.
We are delighted to have peers and industry experts judge and validate the work we do and to be able to compete with the best around the world.
We owe this prize to the very bright young people in the Corporate Communication Department who work tirelessly to put NLNG on the world map.
